Writercize in a Nutshell

Writercize (portmanteau of writing + exercise) is an interactive writing site designed to help you train your writing muscles run by freelance journalist and creative nonfiction writer Alana Garrigues.

I try out the writercize alongside you, so what you see is unedited. I may love it, I may not, but I'll post what comes to me.

The site will also be peppered with a few opinions here and there as well as insight on the growing pains and highlights associated with a burgeoning writing career. Please bear with me. It's my blog, so I get to indulge my ego every once in a while. Right?

These days I don't write here often, but there are more than 250 writing exercises in the archives that I encourage you to check out.

I invite you to try out the exercises and leave your result as a comment. There's nothing better than seeing how different writers approach the same exercise with varying styles.

If you expect your writercize may be on the longer side, I recommend writing your comment on paper or as a .doc before posting since long comments may not post properly in one comment field (or at least copy and paste before you click "submit"). Alternatively, some writercizers like to post on their own site as a blog entry and link back to the challenge. Whatever works for you works for me!
